It’s that time of the year where laying low and taking it easy is the number one priority. Why not also use this time to sharpen your financial literacy? But once you walk into your nearest Waterstones, you’ll notice the ‘Personal Finance’ section virtually bursting at the seams. It’s totally daunting. So, instead, here’s list of our recommended reading for the summer. We’re sure you’ll love it just as much as us. Enjoy!

  • Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! by Robert T. Kiyosaki. Simple, sound and insightful, Kiyosaki’s book is a long-time bestseller and focuses on financial literacy and making your money work for you.
     
  • Worth It: Your Life, Your Money, Your Terms by Amanda Steinberg. A true champion for educating women financially, Amanda believes that in order to raise our net-worth we must learn to raise our self-worth. A fantastic, insightful and inspiring read.
     
  • Financially Fearless: The LearnVest Program for Taking Control of Your Money by Alexa von Tobel Von Tobel is a staunch advocate of financial planning and is on dedicated mission to encourage more people to become financially fearless. This book is refreshing, readable and, most importantly, 100% actionable.
     
  • The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. Benjamin Graham is often referred to as the ‘father of value investing’, and served as an inspiration to to some of today’s most successful businessmen. If you read one book on investing, make it this one.
     
  • The 100-Year Life: Living and Working in an Age of Longevity by Lynda Gratton, Andrew Scott. A book that will definitely make you pause and think, the 100 Year Life gives a unique insight into how and why things might change - and what we should be doing about it.
