You may already know Refinery29’s Money Diaries… this is our own version of it! We’ve put together a few questions to understand what women are doing with their money. Let’s break the taboo and talk more about finances!
It’s short, snappy, fun and anonymous.
Relationship Manager. London. 24. In a relationship, not living together.
💭 Financial goals:
Short term (1-5 years): To buy my first home within the next 2 years.
Medium term (5-10 years): Get married, have kids and have a job that I am well settled in.
Long term (10 years +): To have the freedom to do what I want, provide for my little ones without worrying about finances.
🌟 Best buy ever: My gel nail kit, it's saved me a lot of money! £30 every two weeks for nails way too pricey.
😳 Worst buy ever: My Taste card, it wasn't much but I didn't use it once!
👀 Things you spend the most money on: Eating out.
💸 Salary / Income: £29,000 base, bonus between £8k-£10k annually.
💰 Net worth (what you own vs what you owe, or your assets minus your debts): £8,000.
💻 Any side hustles: Not yet unfortunately, but I'm working on it!
👛 Savings: Yes, some in a flexy savings account, some in a Help to Buy ISA and some in a Stocks and Shares ISA.
🏠 Home: No, not yet.
🔦 Debt: Ignoring student debt, £8,000.
📈 Investing: Pension and ISAs.
😌 Pension: Yes.
