💭 Financial goals:
Short term (1-5 years): Saving for a house deposit
Medium term (5-10 years): Mortgage free.
Long term (10 years +): Retire on investments.
🌟 Best buy ever: Teacher training - £3,000 to retrain as a teacher after 10 years in industry - I’ve never looked back.
😳 Worst buy ever: An expensive pair of leather boots bought in a hurry and only worn once as I didn’t really like them when I bought them. This was my old mindset of ‘have to have new clothes every time I go out’. Makes me cringe now.
👀 Things you spend the most money on: Rent, council tax and Eating out
😌 Pension: Yes - a good workplace pension.
🔮 Insurances: Yes - life Insurance to pay off mortgage on rental property.
💸 Salary / Income: £67,300.
💰 Net worth (what you own vs what you owe, or your assets minus your debts): £125,000.
💻 Any side hustles: £400/month rental property.
👛 Savings: I have a Marcus savings account and recently dipped my toe into Wealthify.. I have a healthy pension pot for someone my age and I put in 15% of my salary in it (with my employer).
🏠 Home: Yes but rented out so need to buy another one to live in hence saving for a deposit (again!).
🔦 Debt: Proudly £0.
📈 Investing: Just my Pension and rental property. Will look at stocks and shares ISA once I have saved my house deposit.
⚡ What is money for you? Future freedom.
🚀 What is financial independence for you? Being able to make my own decisions.
